Bakersfield Black Gold Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Art Charles as the new Head Coach for the 14U team for the Spring 2026 season.
Art Charles brings an impressive baseball background to the Black Gold program. A graduate of Ridgeview High School and Bakersfield College, Charles went on to enjoy a 15-year professional baseball career, competing at the highest levels of the game.
During his professional career, Charles earned international recognition and was honored with the title of “Home Run King of Mexico.” Known for his power at the plate and dedication to the game, he built a reputation as a leader both on and off the field.
Black Gold Baseball is thrilled to have a coach with that level of experience join the organization.
More importantly, Charles brings a passion for developing young athletes and mentoring the next generation of players. His leadership will help guide players as they grow not only in baseball skills but also in character, discipline, and teamwork.
The Black Gold organization is incredibly grateful for Art and his family for investing their time and passion into the program and helping provide opportunities for young athletes to develop into high school-ready players.
With the Spring 2026 season approaching, the future looks bright for the Black Gold 14U team under Coach Charles’ leadership.
